Brief
Whitby Town Council approached me with a brief for a new website to replace their existing site. They wanted to be able to update the content of the site easily, provide PDF documents for their meeting agendas and minutes and provide a secure, password protected area for council members.
Description
The site is built on a dedicated content management system which, once the initial site design has been produced, means that the website's content is easy to maintain and adding new pages and sub-pages is a simple task. The council staff are now responsible for adding and editing the site's pages and content.
The site's administrators can easily add document categories for each of their meetings and provide PDF files for download, choosing whether to make the document public, or for council members only. Photo galleries and news items (blog posts) can also be added easily by council staff.
The site is designed to be user friendly and accessible with a strong coastal theme.

Bespoke Content Management

There are many 'off the shelf' content management solutions. However, having worked on many content managed websites, I always suggest that a bespoke solution is the best - but it doesn't have to be expensive.
